Tabouret LS01 Stool Can Connect With Other Stools To Form Reinforced Chairs, Long Benches, And More

At first glance, the Tabouret LS01 looks like any regular chair without a back or arms. You know, like every other stool. Except, a clever design allows it to actually split into two stools and even connect side by side into a bench.

Designed by Benjamin Lemarié for La Subtile, each stool uses metal slats for the seat, which can interlock with the metal slots on another stool, allowing two stools to tidy up into a single piece, in case you need the extra floor space (or someone on the very heavyset side needs a little extra support). You can line up the slats exactly or at any part, so you can create a new stool with a wider seat if you prefer a little more space to rest your backside.

Since it’s fine to connect only the outermost slats of the Tabouret LS01, you can line up multiple stools to build a bench. You can hook up as many as you need, with the whole thing being as convenient to move from one room to the next as a traditional bench. From the looks of it, you can even connect the slats halfway in, so it might be possible to hook up multiple stools in a grid configuration to build yourself a bed of sorts.

Construction is powder-coated steel with a matte finish, so it should be good for use whether indoors or out. It measures 32 x 30 x 46 cm and weighs 7 kg.

The Tabouret LS01 is priced at €195.
