Slow drip may be time-consuming, but it also allows for one of the most amazing cups of coffee you will ever taste. That is, if you get everything right. If you’re looking to take part in the growing popularity of slow drip for your own caffeinated libations, this Jacqmotte Slow Drip Coffee Maker looks about as capable as any in the market.

A C-shaped tabletop fixture, it comes with a dish for your cup at the base and a removable cone for your filter on top. There are no mechanical or electronic components, so it’s about as traditional a slow drip brewer as you can get. Well, minus having to hold the filter with one hand while you pour hot water – doing that is seriously tiring.

The Jacqmotte Slow Drip Coffee Maker has a main arched frame that’s made from wood, with a bottom dish cut in aluminum and a cone molded in ceramic that feature spiral ribs for “delicate extraction of aromas.” To those unfamiliar with slow drip brewing, you first pre-rinse the filter by placing it in the cone and cleaning it with hot water, allowing the water to pour down into the cup below to warm it (throw out the water before the actual brew begins).   After that, you can sprinkle the beans (preferably ground) into the filter, then start pouring water in a timed and controlled manner, blooming it first before slowly pouring the water in a circular movement from the outside going in.
