As part of the company’s recycling program, Boeing has been fixing and selling used parts from its jetliners. Many of those refurbished components understandably end up in the billion-dollar used parts market. Some of them, however, like this Boeing P-51 Mustang Control Stick Grip, end up vying for a space in the display mantle on the homes of aviation fans.
A genuine part from the cockpit of a North American Aviation P-51 Mustang, it lets you outfit your home with a memento from one of the most storied fighter planes in history. Granted, you won’t be able to plug it into a PC for playing your favorite flight sims like the other control sticks in your gear stash, but it definitely brings a more colorful piece of aviation history than the Cyborg Fly 9 you’ve been piloting planes with in the last-generation of consoles.
The Boeing P-51 Mustang Control Stick Grip is an authentic part that’s been hand-refurbished to look as good as it was back when it saw action in WWII. Or the Korean War. Or whatever bootlegging operation the plane was used for. It comes mounted on a plasma-cut steel base that’s been rendered to take on the shape of a plane. Dimensions are 15 x 13 x 9.5 inches (w x l x h).
Available now, the Boeing P-51 Mustang Control Stick Grip is priced at $1,250.
