TA + BLE Is A Coffee Table That Hides A LED Matrix Underneath The Surface

ta+ble-1

At first glance, TA + BLE will look just like any coffee table in every living room in the world. Underneath that top, however, sits 40 multi-colored LED lights arranged in an 8 x 5 matrix that you can activate by pairing with an app to deliver some much-needed mood lighting into the space.

Rather than wood, glass, or metal, the tabletop is made using LG’s Hi-Macs, a translucent acrylic solid surface that appears like an opaque stone material, but can actually be penetrated by light. The material is supposedly hard-wearing, making it highly resistant to the typical abuse coffee tables tend to go through in their lifetimes.

When paired with the app via Bluetooth, the TA + BLE’s LED array can be controlled by the user, allowing them to select different color palette sequences (complete with a choice of animated transitions), as well as choose from 15 pre-programmed lighting atmospheres. The lights can be also be set to respond to ambient sound, with six different pre-programmed animation sequences available. Beyond lighting, the coffee table also comes with integrated games (only Snake will be available initially, but they will add more down the line), a ticker feature (user enters text on the app and it scrolls across the table), and notifications (it will light up alerts based on events that happen on the phone, such as when a new SMS or a new Facebook update arrives).
