Made by Restoration Hardware, it’s a set of light sculptures that are made from glass shaped to look like the kind of containers you can find in a mad scientist lab. Or Walter White’s trailer, whichever one you can best identify with.
Available in three sizes (small, medium, large), each Chemistry Cloche looks like a mini-lab on its own, with multiple glass tubes, flasks, and funnels of sorts, some of which will have working filaments sitting inside them. The lab-like assembly is perched on a wooden base that’s covered by a blown-glass domed cloche, just like we always imagined the force fields surrounding our mad scientist headquarters will look like. Wiring for the lights is built right into the sculptures, with only the main wire for plugging to the wall outlet out in plain sight. Each of the lab glass sculptures use 25-watt light bulbs.
The small lamp measures 14.5 x 7.5 x 16 inches (w x d x h), the medium 12 x 6.5 x 17.75 inches, and the large 9.5 x 22 inches (diameter x h). Each one comes with a different arrangement for the “mini lab” inside.
The Chemistry Cloche is available now, priced at $495 for the small and $595 for the medium and large.
